Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone who owns a Galaxy note 2 (or anyone else who would know) can tell me how I can differentiate a Galaxy Note 2 that is Dual Carrier and one that is not.

I was about to buy this phone yesterday but then remembered someone had mentioned on these forums not to get the Note 2 unless its DC.

Thanks!

Oh ok. So that means that none of the N7100 that is available via the NZ shops are the DC versions. That is, Bond and Bond, Noel Leeming and other retailers selling the phones are selling the non DC versions?

Eg:

Bond and Bond

Mighty Ape

Digital Mobile

I got N7105 VNZ model from JB Hi Fi. But when I go to the settings, there is no LTE option in Network mode. All I have is

GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode)
GSM only
WCDMA only

I am pretty sure it should have LTE/GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode) as the first option unless it is soft blocked by Vodafone.

Can someone please confirm.

Look under APN settings and then bearer what do you see then? No blocking is going on

LTE is only a packet switch service Voice calls will still go over GSM / WCDMA interface lots of discussion still going on about VoLTE and getting a standard set in stone

There you go no issue, The provider you choose to use has no bearing on the menu options

thanks.

so i guess if the network supports LTE, then i will be able to see the option in Network mode otherwise i should stay as unspecified as in my case now. i changed unspecified to LTE in bearer and did reboot, nothing happened and no internet. changed back to unspecified and reboot 3g and H+ back.
