I have one of the above phones and need to return it to its original ROM which I have not been able to find a copy of any were. I am sure that I am not the only one with one of these phones and have found that it is a really dumb idea to'root' the unit as this just kills the battery.

Thanks for any sensible offers of help.

Just enter the details in the drop down boxes. The New Zealand one is 2degrees (nzc)

Just out of interest, why do you think rooting it is draining the battery? Having root access does not do anything to the battery life, its most likely an app that is repeatedly asking for root privileges (this is assuming it has only happened after you rooted it). Have you installed any new apps recently? Or have any apps that offer additional functions for root users?

I lent the phone to someone how had destroyed and the have install an ICS OS on it which is cool to use but seems to kill the battery. The phone also runs hot and seem to always be dropping/connecting to the data network. I just want to go back to the original ROM to verify the status of the phone. I have also shouted the thing a new battery as my initial thought was that it could be the Samsung battery issue that many have raised issues with. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link and I have downloaded the ROM and installed and all seems great. full charge to 80% in twelve hours of normal use.
