Hi guys, I use to use google maps on my phone to record trees and planting projects in a conservation project Im involved in. I was able to make the map public so others could see our work.

the problem is I cant find how to add markers on my smart phone. All the maps app and website want to do is tell you where the local petrol station is or tell you how to get home. How can I get back to the basic google maps where I can add markers to the map? or is this history on smart phones. I cant lug a laptop around on planting day!

You can 'star' a location in maps by long pressing it until a placard comes up, select 'more', and then toggle the star symbol at the top right hand corner of the popup. At least that's how it works on my One X (Jellybean).
