When is too many, too many?

I have quite a few devices in my Google Play account and you can't remove them, only hide (Google Play, My Orders & Settings):

That's interesting, you used to be able to remove devices from your account. Don't know why they would remove this option!

Yes, I see some devices aren't listed anymore but still have things at least two years old there.
