I sold my Galaxy S2 but need SMS sync for a couple of months, what devices support this, i.e. what is the cheapest?

Sync with what?

I use mighty text which has phone, tablet, and Google chrome for PC apps.

It will do a fairly good job of syncing messages across the lot.

I just sent back a Samsung Galaxy Mini S3 and it supported SMS Activesync.

Just to be clear, you mean creating a SMS from Outlook connected to Exchange and have this sent from the handset, right?

Yes, that is the feature. Introduced in ActiveSync 14.0

It seems that Samsung is the only one that does it, I wonder if a first generation Galaxy can be upgraded to it?

lyonrouge: but need SMS sync for a couple of months

whats the reason you need sms sync explicitly? could you use an email-to-sms gateway instead, for example?

Because he then can send SMS using the allowance his mobile plans gives him, instead of having to pay per SMS when using a SMS gateway service?

As per the post above, also I want the SMS to be sent from my MSISDN not a gateway MSISDN.

Hmmm, I guess I should post this on Windows Phone forum also as it's a Microsoft protocol, surely their devices support it best.

No, Windows Phone 8 (at least up to Portico) doesn't support it.

Windows Mobile 6.5 does support it. Believe it or not.

not supported on WP7 or WP8 to my knowledge.  i have a WP7 and i've never found the option.   I also found it to be hit+miss on WM6.1 and WM6.5 on my palm treo

surely a per-TXT charge would be cheaper than buying a cheap handset...?

not sure the "from my msisdn" bit can be solved unless your telco has a web2text or email2text gateway that supports it.

Yes, the price is not important, it's send and recieving SMS independantly of the handset that is important. I had not considered WM6.1 or 6.5, have a couple so I'll charge them up and see.
