Samsung Introduces the GALAXY S4 mini

SEOUL, Korea, May 30, 2013– Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in mobile technology, today announced the Samsung GALAXY S4 mini, a powerful yet compact version of Samsung¡'s bestselling smartphone, the GALAXY S4. The GALAXY S4 mini delivers intuitive ease-of-use and the sleek design of the GALAXY S4 in a portable, chic and compact version.

On the back of strong demand for the GALAXY S4 and consumer preference for innovation and portability we wanted to provide users the benefits of the GALAXY S4 in a smaller version. With a similar look and feel, the GALAXY S4 will meet the needs of the modern consumer, said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Communication Division at Samsung Electronics.

With a 4.3" qHD Super AMOLED display, the GALAXY S4 mini is also compact and light, weighing only 107g. A 1.7GHz dual core processor in the GALAXY S4 mini gives users powerful performance.

• Capture Important Moments

The GALAXY S4 mini allows users to capture important moments with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. It features Sound&Shot, which stores audio and voice as a picture is taken. Panorama Shot allows users to take full panoramic shots. You can even receive travel information through the preloaded S Travelapplication. Story Album automatically arranges your photos in a creative format according to the user¡¯s timeline, geo-tagging information, or a specific event.

The Samsung GALAXY S4 mini enables users to share and connect. Users can simultaneously listen to the same music as their friends using Group Play. The GALAXY S4 mini also allows you to chat with multiple friends and send video and voice recordings using ChatON. 

• Make Life Simple and Easy

The GALAXY S4 mini makes travel easy with S Translator, which provides instant text or voice translation of an email or text message. Samsung Link* also enables users to share content across multiple Samsung digital devices. ^{*available in select countries}

The GALAXY S4 mini helps users stay healthy. Downloadable from Samsung Apps, S Health enables users to monitor the amount of calories they consume and their overall health. To further protect users' wellbeing, Adapt Display and Adapt Sound provide users with an optimal viewing and sound level, personalised for each user. 

The GALAXY S4 mini will be available in two colours, White Frost and Black Mist.  Availability of the GALAXY S4 mini supporting either 4G LTE, or 3G HSPA, will be determined by the market.
