Hi, with iOS updating their device tracking software i guess its time to see what tracking apps folk are using on Android, seems its been a couple of years since we had a topic on this, must have moved on since then.

Cheers
Cyril

This thread was not too long ago... it actually went slightly off topic, but the takeaway from that thread was also edging towards Cerberus somewhat. ;)

So, just to make it official, I can also highly recommend Cerberus.

Still cerberus.
Until another app that is as low profile, comprehensive yet simple, and doesn't have a subscription comes along, it will continue to be the pick of choice.

Just had a look at a video presentation of Cerberus. Darned impressive set of features for E2.99.

I use Prey, would I see any significant advantages with changing to Cerberus?

Lookout premium.

But might have to give Cerberus a shot.

I used Prey on my S2 the switched to Avast. Currently have Avast on my Note 2 but I'm not overly fussed on it - will take a look at Cerberus too.

We sold a surplus phone that had Cerberus on it, did a complete factory reset etc before selling, and then had to ask for the phone back to remove Cerberus when the previous owner of the phone started getting SIM card ID and location emails sent to him :)

Its good.

I've tried out Samsung Dive, Phone Locator Pro and Cerebus. Cerebus is the best

I just bought Cerberus after reading kiwitrc's post.

I'll keep lookout for the scream and malware.

One of the problems I noticed with Cerberus is the author of it is a bit too quick to disable features in your account if he suspects you are using it in a privacy invading way.

A number of people on his forum have complained that they have been blacklisted - AFTER PAYING - for simply demonstrating it's features to other friends. Author seems un-moved.

Anyway, best to check it out yourself. I only read a bit of it all, not all of it.

Hi, thanks for the feedback, I have had a look at Cerberus and its indeed very capable, however probably more than I am after. I have used where's my droid for a couple of years, its sat there on the phone and seems to quietly wait till needed without using any noticeable resource. Only time I used it was to locate my phone which as it turned out was sitting on my desk at work.

Cheers

well after having Cerberus on my last 3 phones I finally got to use it, not by choice. I got home from shopping minus phone and figured it was at the cafe I'd been at as didn't take it out at supermarket.

Logged into Cerberus and showed it was in vicinity of supermarket but was moving across road. I messaged saying to take back to supermarket as I was on way and locked the phone with a code. Went back to supermarket, 10km's away, and it was at service desk with the message flashing on screen.

All in all very happy as when I got back the tracking history showed it had gone down road and back again so very lucky to get it back in one piece although maybe the person didn't know what to do with it until I sent message.
