Vigo 9.7 Android 4.0 Tablet

Anyone got an opinion on this Android 4.0 tablet? (Full specs at the bottom)

I read this set of opinions (quote: "so long as you get the version 2 device with dual core CPU and 8000mAH battery" - can't post a link, but you could google it) which says avoid the version1 model, but suggesting the version2 isn't bad. (That was at $300). have them at $149 today which sounds excellent for the price.

I checked with 1day live chat and the guy checked for me, and they are version 2. I was still a bit dubious, as to whether they were shipping out all the broken returned units refurbished, but the 1day live chat told me they are apparently brand new units direct from the factory.

I'm undecided whether this is a good purchase or not... seems the Quality Control isn't too good on them (GeekZone reply number: # 736987), so you take a punt on getting one with bad wifi or other problem.... but then the price appears to be exceptional for the spec. (in fact the GZ member in that post above thought it was good value at $299 - other than the problems!).

I'm actually tempted to buy two of them (if I decide to buy it at all), which has the added advantage that if one unit isn't acting like the other, you know that unit is sub-standard/faulty, rather than thinking it might just be what that tablet model is like! So you know whether it needs returning or not (unless both have the same fault! But that would be just plain unlucky)

So, what do you think? Worth a gamble?

Anyone here got experience of them good or bad?

Also does anyone know if this unit is on XDA at all? What model is it based upon?

Big screen with a terrible resolution.

It's okay for the price, just don't be expecting nexus like quality.

Have you also considered an Asus TF300T? Should be able to pick one up for a decent price brand new or second hand if your budget allows for it.

as far as reliability 1-Day is very good with returns etc, so you can have peace of mind that if you get a lemon they will replace/refund.

Thanks guys, I've plumped for two!

The battery life is VERY good apparently (8000Ah). They have a reasonable processor and ram. The screen is lower res that I'd like, but not as low as some! The price seems to be exceptional for what they are.

Hopefully with two, I'll find it easier to return one if it under-performs the other in any way (because I have direct comparison).

I've had to return something to 1day before and got a full refund. (Which was a shame in that case, as I wanted the unit, but they of course had no more of them).

I'll let you know how it goes... hoping I get two units I can keep!

Says it will take 10 - 14 days to arrive, so won't know for a while.... will try to remember to post back an update in a few weeks.
