Installing the TVNZ on demand app on android devices that are supposedly unsupported.

I thought I would share something I came up with.

TVNZ have released their on demand app for select samsung galaxy devices (the S3, S2 Note and the S4). If you download the app from the Samsung app store on one of the above devices you can use an app called Apk Extractor and install the .apk file made on another device ie a Galaxy S2.

I have the TVNZ on demand app working on my Galaxy S2. I am interested to see if it works on any other devices.
As I have seen it works really well on my phone I'm not sure why TVNZ couldn't just release something for all android phones themselves.

I suspect because it is partly paid for by the manufacturer, to help sell their new models. I have found it works quite well on the s3, but it has crahed a couple of times mid program, but not bad considering it is the first version. A bit clunky, and I am a bit surprised they don't have a tv guide for normal tv in it.

Works on N4 and Galaxy Tab 8.0 - I think it'll probably work on most everything.

Helpful to know what the app's name is as I can't find it on my searches.

Works well IMO.

Wish TV3 would get off their a55es and release SmartTV and SmartPhone/Tablet apps...

Can't you just download it off the samsung apps website?. You may also need to download the samsung kies software.

I wish it was that easy! I tried many variations but it is not there on my Samsung Apps search. Hard to know why. Maybe it is because I have a SIII mini??

If the apk is floating around somewhere I wouldn't mind trying it on my lower end Android to see how she goes.
