Was thinking today that if I lost my phone (and got a replacement) I would really only need the photos and SMS backed up.

Are users here backing up their photos regularly? Is there a service like crashplan but for mobiles??

I use Dropbox. All photos are automatically uploaded online as soon as I connect to the Wi-Fi at home

I just have mine sync everything. Dropbox, private Picasa album, whatever your preference is.

I use dropbox for my photos (automatically uploads when in wife range - great for trademe too, snap a photo, write the description on the PC and upload the photo straight from dropbox)

Contacts are automatically synced to my google account (which also syncs with my iphone)

Emails are done through gmail

Only thing I would lose would be my sms messages and game saves

I was feeling all safe with my winphone as I had the backup turned on, then I reset it today and found that its really touchy about how and when it will actually restore your stuff - if you say no the first time it offers, it will not offer again, ever.

I use SMS Backup+ to backup my call logs and SMS messages to my gmail account. That combined with Dropbox for photos and am using an Exchange Server account for email, Cal and contacts means there is next to nothing on the actual phone to lose....

I use Dropbox for auto photo backup and G Cloud for scheduled backups of SMS/MMS, Call log, settings and accounts etc.

like most dropbox and also google drive. Once I got weened off MS Outlook I've found gmail does all I need. In fact Google does more than I actually need, getting scarey how much I rely on it now

As with others I use Dropbox for photos and I use "SMS Backup & Restore Pro" for SMS, which also uploads to Dropbox

I use SMS Backup + to backup phone logs and text messages to gmail.
And I use Dropsync to backup files and photos, it is more customisable(backup only certain folders and backup when on data or on wifi or both) than the official drop box client.

I don't use dropbox. Couldn't be bothered with the extra app.
I use google+ because it's already on my phone and I have 150GB (bought a chromebook and pay a monthly fee as well) with the extra option of uploading full size pics. I've got it set to only upload when charging on wifi.
I used to use sms backup and restore, but I don't really care if I lose them anymore. Any important messages, I copy and send to my gmail account.
I use Lookout as well and it will backup call logs.

+1 for dropbox (and to g+) - for online backup

also have my desktop linked to the dropbox account - and then use a syncback scheduled daily back up to the unraid server - for local backup

all works really well
