Does anyone use the NZHerald app on Android? On my Android 4.2 tablet (Asus Transformer TF101) some days no matter how many times I click it won't load a story, or sometimes it won't load any stories just the titles. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes I click into a story three times before I can see any text. I'm always at home on WiFi and the website opens fine. The same thing happens sometimes on my S4 on the latest available version of Android.

Also every time you finish reading a story it refreshes the story list and goes back to the top story, you can't just keep scrolling down to read the next story. As usability goes it's just awful. Obviously no-one from NZHearld uses their own app.

Does anyone else have issues with the app?

Edit - it's rated really poorly on google play.

Worth a shot, thanks... though my S4 is only months old and it has similar problems sometimes.

yeah have the same issues on and off with both my N4 and N7, I have put it down to not testing with 4.3 by Herald.

Usually can fix it by clearing the dtata and cache for the app but sometimes have to force stop as well. Once it starts it seems to happen every 3 or 4 page loads and eventually rebooting device seems to be the only fix that works for a longer period of time.

Come on APN get your act together and get a decent app.

the herald app can be a pig for me - on s2 and 10.1 tablet

some updates have broken it in the past as well - but it does seem to be working ok-ish at the moment

as a result i tend to use stuff for local and BBC for foreign

Same here.   When it happens I use the Stuff app instead..

This has annoyed me from the start too, but on the iOS versions of the app.  Same goes for the Stuff app which does the exact same thing.
