My Googling skills seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.

In the recent week, I've noticed intermittently my battery on my Xperia Acro S being spontaneously drained for reasons unknown. Everytime it happens, I noticed in BetterBatteryStats under the Partial wakelocks section...
WakefulIntentservice (GCoreUlrExternalChangeService) appears to be one hogging Most of it? I can't for the life of me figure out what this is and what is calling it? It appears to be part of Google Services. Google search brings up nothing.

Also, does anyone know how I generate a dump file out of BetterBatteryStats? I've looked through Menus and just can't find out how to do it. My "More" menu contains only "Graphs","Raw Stats", "Order by...", but no option for Dump file. Have checked /sdcard/ for both the Internal memory and the SD Card and this is nowhere to be found.

Many thanks for any help.

yes its a bit hard finding that, any reference is to do with wakelocks but seems to be on logcats and they don't discuss that particular thing.

Rge wakefulintentservice has info about alarms, Gcore seems to be a log cat program that runs but makes no sense to me.

Have you downloaded any apps or updated anything. If you can't sort it try a reset it can sometimes help. Are you running Jellbean?

Thanks for the reply Jeff, Much appreciated

Yep, running Jellybean. Have since applied the 6.2.B.1.96 update to the phone (after my original post) and that particular issue (being WakefulIntentservice) appears to have gone away. However it seems something else has taken it's place as being the battery hog. "Event Log Service (Google Services)", Again, my attempt at Googling has revealed very little about about what this process actually is. Is there anyway to see what is calling up this "Event Log Service" and what it is being calling it for?

Cheers.

As of recent "Google Play Services" updates, it's now impossible to totally disable the NLP (Network Location Protocol) and some other wakelocks as they've baked the functionality into the base framework rather than hope that users install Maps etc.

When they first did this a month or so back, it ruined battery life, it doesn't seem to be affecting it too badly now, maybe they've made it less persistant.

The only way I can get logs out of BBS is to "Share To..." and email it to myself as I can't see where it saves them either.
