$349 USD ?

So it's most likely all of us ordering through youshop will get taxed heavily then.

Unless....can we lie to them and shave off a few $$  say the NZD price is 300 ?

One of the potential launch dates indicated was 18 Oct, which is in about 3.5 hours pacific time

Shame about the 5" screen, too large for many womens hands - looking at getting an Android for my fiance some time.

If the Play Store allowed us tech 3rd worlders from NZ  into it this would not be a problem..

Im quite keen to get a Nexus 5.

Currently rocking an Iphone 5 on vodafone 4g. It is a work phone but I use android for everything else, so looking at getting the Nexus myself and also using it for work.

Question is should my sim card from Iphone 5 fit straight into Nexus 5, also whats the odds of 4g working on it.

Why the angst about paying tax?

don't you want your kids to have a school to go to and your parents or grand parents to get looked after in hospital?

If its modeled off the G2 as a lot of sites have said it would say it will use a micro SIM over a Nano SIM.

I heard there was a leaked manual out somewhere for it but have not read it but it might have some answers.

Um, i already pay alot of GST for the things i buy locally.

I pay tax on my income and pretty much everything else.

I pay tax on my cars so the govt can fix the roads for me.

If I want to avoid tax on a little thing imported from overseas that i'm probably only gonna buy once every few years..i think i'm entitled too.

I paid school fees too.

Anddddd I paid over 20K in university fees...by working.

So there.

That's about 3 hours of hard work to get that amount.
It doesn't just fall from the sky, no.

And who says it's $60 ? You'll get slapped for at least $100 NZD on customs duty.

And I meant 'car' as in singular. Before i get judged for having multiple cars.....i have one, it's more than a decade old and by 'tax' i meant registration fees.

Entitled to avoid tax?

I don't understand what the difference is between avoiding "being taxed heavily" by not paying GST on imported goods and avoiding GST/ PAYE tax by doing cash jobs under the table etc

At the end end of the day there's always ways around anything, you could carry it over the border in your luggage, you could have the overseas vendor make a false claim as to a packages value etc etc

Not hassling you, just saying tax is a reality of being part of society

Oh the irony coming from a Microsoft employee ;)
The little man shouldn't be avoiding paying $100 in tax but its ok for your employer to dodge $2.4 billion ;)

Not hassling you, just being a smartass :)
