I started noticing last week that my stock Nexus 4 is shutting down well before the battery is empty, one time I was looking at it and said 17% battery left and then it shutdown with no battery warning at all, when I pressed the power button it would not load up at all so had to connect the charger.
When it was loaded went into the battery info and it showed the graph with a gradual decline until it reached about 17% then it just dropped straight down to 0%.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Sounds like the battery stats were off, just charge it to 100% and drain it to 0% again, from here it should start behaving. Seems to be a common N4 quirk.

How do I drain it to zero when it wont read properly?
Hard reset wipes the device right?

Yeah I've had this on my nexus 4. Show 40% then it just died. But just reset it to factory now its fine. Thankfully everything thing is cloud now so factory resets aren't the issue they used to be.

Sorry to drag up old thread but I thought the 4.4 update might fix the phone but its not, tried to take a picture with viber battery was at 82%, phone shutdown, turned it back on and battery was less than before by a bit, tried again for a picture and shutdown and now 28% battery, any other ideas apart from warranty?
