Running CM11 now.
Was running Archidroid 4.3.1 with no complaints but just had to have a poke at 4.4

So:

Flash CWM recovery 6.0.4.4
Factory wipe
Flash CM 11.0
Flash PA GAPPS full (Dalvik and ART)
Wipe Dalvik cache
Reboot
Clench teeth and remember why I shouldn't be doing this
Enter setup info with disbelieving smile
Watch apps update
Post here

I believe I am below the post count needed to put up links but the GalaxyS3 sub reddit has the links that put you back to the Google community page

There is an OmniRom 4.4 for offer also but there may be booting issues with that

If anything wonderful or terrible occurs I shall update this post

Of course, If running Kit Kat lets me win Lotto I may post from overseas!

-Time to fiddle-

Looking forward to reading your impressions/review. I am taking my first dive into trying to Root my S3 (i9300t), have had it almost a year on stock firmware and now I want to try rooting it because the latest official update from Samsung causes music playback to skip, regardless of what app I use to play it. I'm going to copy down the name of the ROM you were using and try that one. Hopefully it should be use-able for me if it worked fine for you.

My ADSL speed.

Hi

I wouldn't recommend using this if you are embarking on the Flash and Rom routine. I have used most of the 4.2 and 4.3 ROMS on offer since August this year -  I return to Archidroid when others annoy me too much or I get fidgety.

So in the first instance I recommend a 4.3 based ROM - Certainly try any of the following: Carbon, Slim, Cyanogen, PAC etc

If anyone wants my opinion I suggest ArchiDroid as it has taken most of the goodness from the above offerings and has a very user friendly install routine
It is stable once installed also.

Back to 4.4.

No trebuchet and Status bar customization
A few Apps like Rescan SD and ShowBox don't work.
Battery life seems better so far

Settings are certainly different but not sue if by design or reflective of a cut down feature list through this being an early release
Seems faster in day to day use also
