Bought my note 3 from Warehouse Stationary on 16th Oct, the problem i had is that when i receive the calls the screen went totally off, no matter what i did (click power button, volume button) it's no response until the coversation finished, and i can't even hang up the call.

Should i ask them to fix/exchange/refund?

I have the s4, and it was the same with the s3, 2 and 1 so I assume the note series as well.

If you are covering the sensors near the top of the phone during a call (like your head usually would) then the screen turns off so you don't accidentally push buttons. However, the screen should turn back on once the sensors are no longer covered.

Are you saying that if you completely remove the phone away from your head, then screen remains off?

Yes, even i move the phone away from my ear it's still black.

someone said might be the sensor not working, someone said becasue of dust over the sensor, not quite sure how could i do it?

Open the dialler and type in *#0*# and select the sensor test option. If you wave your hand over the proximity sensor, the value should change and the screen will turn green. If you get no response it will indicate the sensor is faulty, in which case you can take it back for a warranty exchange/repair.

the phone is naked, there is no screen protector or case on top of it, click on sensor, the screen shows green with vibration, with or without my palm cover the top (speaker area) nothing happen.

That's pretty cool! Although I have to admit I hesitated in case it was a "wipe all" command! ;)

Thanks all your reply, one of my college has the same problem, what he did just blow the top of the earpiece(sensor area), it's working then (because of dust?). Not quite sure if i can blame the poor design that the "dust" can go to the sensor area so easily.
