Hi all,

As many of you know my S4 has been rooted and modified since day one. I've been trying some stock 4.2.2 roms recently but this morning my phone seems to have lost its IMEI number completely. I had to try some different modems as they were causing some problems and all was working fine until this morning.

Has anyone had any luck repairing this? For whatever reason my EFS backups aren't recognised in recovery, and none of my backups are restoring the phone to a pre IMEI loss state.

I know this is a bit of a grey area on legality so if the mods don't like this then feel free to delete. I might end up with a very expensive media player...

Bugger. From what I've read once you destroy that it's an expensive media player, like you said. Unfortunately I don't know enough to help, but I'll keep my eye out as I'm doing some reading in this area.

How did you do your EFS backups? I used a tool called EFS Pro.

Perhaps you could post what you did to help others learn and avoid the same mistake.

Take it in to get repaired use triangle away to get back to official.

Most efs backups are via app and need to be restored that way. Also couldn't you manually overwrite efs with your backup using a root explorer?

There are always a few threads on Xda about recovering imei for Samsung devices, check the device threads. It's quite a common thing with Samsung.
