Hey guys I have started having very random (about 3 weeks ago) (85% of the time) problem of calls that the person starts breaking ( intermittent voice) up and then eventually the call drops out. I am running a 4G sim but don't know if this would make any difference. I have 4 - 5 bars when this is happening.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Just some more info on this and some stuff I did not mention in the first post. So voice was fine for around 10 secs to a minute of a call but then very intermittent voice breaking up (both ends) during a call. Calls would also drop out all the time and sometimes could not even make a call as would just return to the dialing screen. Ear piece would become very hot when on a call (randomly). Also randomly would get the error message pop up that sim had been removed and to put back in. Battery serial number was not part of the affected batch and could not see any buldging so not sure where the heat was coming from. Has not been near any water at all and has been in a case since I purchased it.

Something defintly a miss here so took it back to where I got it from which was Telecom store in Riccarton mall in christchurch , They were fantastic and apologized for the problems I was having and took all the details and have sent the phone off for repair. They also gave me a loner phone which is a galaxy S2.
Recieved a call today from the store to advise me that the techs have recieved my phone and will be looking at it shortly. Well done this store for ringing me to keep me informed of what is going on, now that is service and should be commended.

Will be interesting to see what the outcome is.

So I got a call to say my phone was ready and went in and picked it up. Report said everything had been tested and cleaned and everything reset and was all good to go. No mention of anything being replaced or repaired.
Had it less than 2 hours and the message sim card removed is showing on the screen. Reboot phone and all is good again. Next time it comes up though will leave it like it is and take it back so they can see I am not telling porkies.
I don't want to go around in circles though I should be entitled to have it replaced if it does it again ??

I would check that they haven't already replaced it with a "refurbished" phone, easiest way it to get the box the phone came in and compare the imei on the box with what the phone reports.

If it's still not fixed 2nd time around, reject the repair, ask for a NEW replacement or money back.

Also ask for the repair report and ask them to point out on the report what was done to fix the reported fault.

You can also do a screen shot, press and hold the power and home buttons together, this will be easier than leaving the sim error message up and going back to the store

Its the same phone as eveything matched up , I thought it may have been the sim card first time around so that has already been replaced but alas the problem is still there.
Will take a ss so that the tech's can also see it.

Does issue happen with another carriers SIM in it?

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

To be honest John I don't know I have not tried that yet, Nobody else seems to be reporting this issue on here although I have see it mentioned on overseas forums and they had no luck with all there different remedies and was not resolved until they replaced their phone.

sounds like the old reset and quick check and nothing more, certainly sounds like a hardware issue and can imagine quite frustrating.

I'm pretty sure that, if pushed , you will get a new phone but as previously said it may pay to ensure it isn't a refurb, then again would depend on what was refurbed I suppose.

I would be testing with another carriers SIM card the issue might not even be the handset, At least this will show where the issue is

So had to take the handset back today for it doing the same problems. Off it goes again up north to be checked. It was better in that a call can last for up to 2 to 3 minutes now before you start getting the hesitated voice and call eventually drops out.
I feel frustrated that I cannot emulate this problem at the store as it is random but that is not to say they do not believe me.
I also was still constantly getting the sim has been removed box coming up.

I have the same G2 loner phone they gave me last time and did not have a single problem when using that with the same sim in it.
