If this octa core beast really costs $250 unlocked ... wow!

(yes you won't get nearly everrything but wonder if the price really is that low)

That'll be $250US, mind. No LTE or DC-HSPA+ is a bit naff, but interesting spec. Mediatek chips aren't historically very good, nice to see interesting product from a lesser-known OEM all the same.

Harvey Norman have been ranging a variety of Alcatel One Touch kit locally. The One Touch Scribe HD looks decent, though with the same caveats as above. It's the One Touch Hero & Idol Alpha that look most interesting, with the Alpha's design a standout.
