See if I can explain what I am looking for
Is there a site where i can go to get driving directions that I can download to my android that will voice a pre determined drive.
Say Auckland to wellington.
I was thinking pre determined so that the route would take in the best "tourist drive" rather than the best route.
Does that make sense?

Create a journey in Google maps on your computer by choosing 2 end points. You can change the route between those points by click and dragging it. Save it to ' my maps'. Open GMaps in your phone and then look at your personal info. The route should be there.
I have successfully navigated using this. But be warned if you stray away from your new route it will probably recalculate and take you some random way to your destination.
