I see HTC have announced Power to Give at the Mobile World Congress. If you haven't heard, it's a BOINC app, which is not a new idea - BOINC has been around since, what, 2002? and a search of the Geekzone forums shows threads from 2007 and 2010 showing people were running SETI@home and FOLD@home. Hell, it's not even new on Android - Samsung's Power Sleep was first.

I just wondered whether anyone was running something like this on a mobile already? While letting my phone save the world while I'm asleep is all well and good, it sounds like an extravagant plan for Berkley and HTC to mine bitcoins...

What a silly idea. Why not use all the xbox ones and playstation 4s and the gaming computers idling around?

IDK about those devices, A little too much power consumption.
Phones maybe but it just wears them out fast.
