Any thoughts please on the best Android email client for gmail only. Over the years I have tried most clients and end up sticking with Gmail but think its about time I reviewed the clients out there. There are several things that annoy me with Gmail client but it does work reliably. Would like to hear what others are using and why?

Thanks

Which version of Android are you running? The stock KitKat email app is hard to beat.

If running an older version of Android you should be able to download and then sideload from here:

An on KitKat on nexus phone and tablet. I just get annoyed the way stock gmail forces you to do things. I hate threaded messaging for instance.

I use K9 Mail. I find the interface more friendly than stock clients.

I'm using the default KitKat email client (not Gmail) with an Outlook.com account as well as an exchange one and multiple messages are not being threaded.

Lack of threading is a plus for me. For work purposes it makes life considerably easier.

Too much, Small screen. Be good if you could config Mail app to go through the threads by swiping left<>right.
