Does anyone know of an android answerphone app?
I know you need the telcos callminder when your phone is off/out of range, but sometimes you are not next to your phone or dont want to talk - and I figured something like an answerphone app would be quite cool.

The message would be saved on your phone and you wouldnt have to dial up (20c) to retrieve.

Anyone seen or using anything like that?

I've been looking for something like this too (and yes I trawled through the play store)...

There doesn't seem to be anything that works in the way that you have asked. Most of these apps send an SMS to the caller.

In a time of rollover minutes and data credit, it seems bizarre to still have to pay 20c to listen to phone messages - especially when half of them are pocket calls or hang-ups. Yes, maybe I'm cheap but I think I give my telco enough money already.

I would have thought it would be a simple app to make, so surprised no developer has jumped on it - or perhaps we only pay to listen to our voicemail messages in NZ?

Has anyone come across anything like this that they've actually used?

You know you can get voicemail turned off eh? Just means there is nowhere for calls to go to when you reject them so people think its busy and keep calling back.

Following some info I got on a thread here, I forward any missed calls to a 2talk number with voicemail. The messages get emailed to me so I never have to ring to check them. I have plenty of minutes so don't mind using them for the call forwarding charges.
