Has anyone managed to successfully root a Telecom NZ branded Samsung Galaxy S5? Model SM-G900F

Getting a FAIL message using Odin Odin3-v3.07 with the file CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar

I have enabled the developer mode, ticked USB debugging, and installed the USB drivers for Windows.

The phone is Telecom branded but not network locked as I won it from Telecom but am using my Vodafone SIM in it.

Is there anything I am missing, I had no trouble rooting my HTC Desire and then Galaxy S3

This might be a silly question, But are you in Download mode?

I have the same problem. I was wondering if Telecom NZ has locked the bootloader of their Samsung Galaxy S5's. Whilst in download mode it shows " QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE ". This is why I believe Odin 3.07 displays error "<ID:0/020> FAIL! (Auth)". Hopefully I'm wrong!

Ha, yes. As I mentioned, this isn't my first rodeo. I have rooted my previous 2 Android phones, including the S3 which uses the same method and Odin software. Both were trouble free, this one is perplexing me.

Lots of people are reporting the QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE on the Xda thread and rooting Ok.

You may new a newer version of Odin.

Thanks for the link, I will try there if I don't get any not here.

I think Xda is likely to be your best bet, lots of people rooting their S5's there and the G900F seems to be the model most people have.

I found 2 guides for the S5,one with the latest Odin and one with an older version. Both behaved exactly the same.

I will look on XDA at the posts regarding secureboot.

Secureboot is enabled on the S4 too I believe and that didnt affect anything when rooting

Which root are you using?

I've successfully rooted my Telecom device with CF root.

Will investigate the SECUREBOOT stuff on XDA and see how I get on.

Re download it to make sure its not corrupt?

Also theres a video here of a guy doing it. (Its not telecom but yeah) He does however say to try using a USB 2.0 cable instead of the USB 3.0 one http://youtu.be/xMWzMbM5SCk?t=10m16s

Are you using the version of odin from inside the zip file?

Okay so I know what the issue is. You have to disable Reactivation Lock in the security settings as this prevents you from rooting your device. After disabling this you won't get the "<ID:0/020> FAIL! (Auth)"".
After you have rooted your phone as described at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537&page=1 then you can re enable the Reactivation Lock.
