Hi all,

Wondering if someone can help me out, I have flashed a new Modem and WiFi on my phone and now the Wifi is not working. I flashed it to see if I can get better reception...but as the post here suggests it did not work as expected.

What is the latest modem and wifi for the S4 in New Zealand, and how to get it working.

Cheers in advance.

Trying at the moment XXUGNE5 Modem and LTE. Telco is Telecom/Spark NZ.

Using Odin 3.04 and tried 3.07.
What is your current modem and wifi?

I am on 4.4.2.

UGNE5 is the latest modem from Spark.

What is your current build number? You can find this in settings, about device. Basebands have to be compatible with the rom

I would just flash the latest Spark ROM from here, http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=32038 which is the whole rom. Make sure to back up your stuff first.

Do you mean UGNE8?

Because you can find a UGNE8 modem here.

Im not sure if they come with two files but if they do you need to flash both of them, and try doing them in both the PDA and the PHONE fields

To stay on the safe side it might be better to flash the spark rom though..

Nope it says I9505XXUGNG8 in the build number field.

Hmm might have to flash it to fix it and then flash the Alliance ROM on top..

I found this - http://d-h.st/users/DjeMBeY/?fld_id=16262#files

that ROM is for S4 LTE - will it work on a normal S4?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I take it you used Odin to Flash modem otherwise it wouldn't work. One thing doing it this way is to actually switch device off first then put into download by holding , volume down, menu and power buttons. Make sure you put the modem in "phone" or "AP" for newer Odin versions.

I have read that it also depends on the version your are running i.e. 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 i.e bootloader. How do I find out which bootloader I need?
