Hi
I have set up a Samsung S3 as a timelaps camera,
It is mounted up a pole accross the road from my house that is about to be build,
I would like to get access to the phone so I cwn see that the app is runnig, check battery status and progress on the building,
The phone is on a data plan and an external battery.
Does anyone know an App I can use to do this please.
I have tried Team viewer but you have to be at the far end to accept the connection.

Thanks
Tony

One suggestion (I've never tried it so can't be sure it will do what you want):You could try one of the Android Automation apps, like Automagic? http://lifehacker.com/automagic-is-a-powerful-easy-to-use-automation-tool-fo-483434758.

You could have it email or SMS you each day to confirm your S3 is still alive. There might be other ways, too, but that's what comes to mind..

Have it upload images to dropbox, that's virtually automatic. I use AirDroid 2 to remotely control my phone, you can set it up to accept incoming connection requests without prompting on the phone. Unsure about which app to take photos at specified intervals.

Hi - this is something I was researching for a client who was looking to hire me to compile a time-lapse of a demolition/construction project. It didn't eventuate, and I was mostly researching iOS apps... but what I concluded was that the best method I could see was to find a time-lapse app that saved it's images in the standard 'camera roll' of the phone and have the Dropbox app onboard with settings to save all new photos to your Dropbox account.
If you could get this working (with Apples earlier tight sand-boxing this was a problem) then it'd be simple to log in to Dropbox and check the progress remotely. You'd be able to see if things were working correctly or whether a seagull had shat on your lens etc.
I was in communication with a developer of the time-lapse app O'Snap! and he was pretty receptive to suggestions for making the app more pro-friendly (he liked my suggestion of being able to set photos to only be taken between certain time-frames - like day-time only), so I would suggest that if you found an App on the Play Store that almost suited your purposes then you may be able to have the developer adapt it...?
Things to look out for in a good app would be the ability to lock focus, darken the screen once started as well as being able to lock the white balance (altho' not as critical in a long-term time-lapse).
Good luck.

Edit: - whoops, once more Timmmay has beaten me to the post!

Cheers,

An option would be to use something like cerberus + dropbox.  Cerberus is a security/tracking type app but the web interface gives you battery stats, and you can even grab a screenshot so you can see what the device is doing (might need to be rooted for screen grab).

You have to get up pretty early in the day to beat me to the punch mate! :)

OP - my suggestion above is exactly what you asked for.
