Hi.
I installed adblock plus app (adblockplusandroid 1.2.1 apk files) and used the android package opener to install it.
Then when a notification came up to give it proxy permissions I followed the instructions. Which were to go into the advanced settings in my network connection (modify network config) and change the
proxy setting to manual. Then put 'localhost' where it said proxy hostname and change the proxy port setting from 8080 to 2020.

After I did this there was the adblockplus icon (ADP) in the notifications bar and a notice ssying that ads were blocked access all networks.

When I tried to look at the news in the stuff app straight after it wouldn't load. So I knew something was wrong. I uninstalled the ADP app and changed the network settings back to manual and the way they were before.

At this point my wifi was still connected. But then I turned my phone off and wiped the partition cache and when I rebooted my mobile data was turned on and my wifi wouldn't connect and still doesn't saying it's disabled.

My home wifi network is through Unifone in Dunedin which is a wifi hotspot so there's no router to reset. It's satellite through a dish on the roof.

I have tried forgetting the network and re entering my password details but nothing works. I would factory reset back can't back up my photos etc because I haven't got a sd card or a computer. My phone is the only device I have.

Please help geekzone I'm lost without my wifi. :)

Btw. It's my home wifi. Not a public one.

Get WiFi Analyzer (or similar)... as a baseline, it's useful to guarantee that your WiFi network is up and running as you expect.

But my guess is that connecting to it is requiring some kind of HTTP traffic, which in turn is going via the (non-existant) ADP proxy. Double-check all your proxy settings.
