Ever since Android 5 arrived my nexus 7 (2012) model has been as slow as a dog. I understand why and was waiting for an update from Google to fix. This morning a message popped up that Android 5.0.2 was available. As my device was so low on power I thought I should charge first. Once it was fully charged I checked for update and it has disappeared. Went to the update option and forced a check but no still only android 5.0. I am guessing that Google have pulled 5.0.2 wonder why

5.0.2 is very much different to 5.0.. it just works. Facebook still seems to run like crap on it but everything else is quick as.  Was running Slim 5.0.2 0.91 and that was quicker still.

It'll run better after a factory reset anyway. With any "major" update I always use the image, which causes the device to be wiped, to save any dramas down the track.

Even my 2013 Nexus 7 feels a bit clunky with 5.

My Nexus 7 is next to being unusable after upgrading to Android 5.0 too, should have waited, was too excited and pushed the Upgrade button immediately...

One thing I did learn was that doing a complete reset after the upgrade helped. We now know the problem was with trim not working correctly but a complete reset of phone will help clean it out and make it useableb for a while.

I side loaded 5.0.2 as well.  While a vast improvement I still find I need to reboot it quite regularly to keep it usable.

I haven't been offered any version of 5 on my nexus 7 (2012) yet. Seems like I might have got lucky.

I barely ever have to restart mine since the 5.0.2 update.  Think the first time I did was last night cause the kindle software was being a little iffy..

My wife's 2012 Nexus 7 updated last week.  Still slow as a dog for about the first 5 minutes after it starts.  Had to flush out everything from the NZ Herald App before it would load..   Facebook is a little slow at times.   Wonder if there will be another update??
