Hi,

Last night I swapped my wife's really old iPhone (3GS) to a somewhat newer Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini (a hand-me down from me to her).  When I had it I occasionally had a problem with Facebook whereby I would get a message session expired or session timed out or something and everything would stop syncing and I would have to log in again but now I am having a new error - 'single sign-on failed'.  Before I gave her the phone I wiped all my stuff off and did a factory reset, and last night I set it up from scratch.  but no matter how I set it up the app works fine, and it syncs contacts but I get the error single sign-on failed and it wont sync gallery or calendar.

I tried installing the app from the play store and setting it up this way
I tried a re boot
I tired a remove all Facebook account, app and data and a reboot
I tired setting up from the add account in settings

I can remove the alert by disabling SNS, but it doesn't help with calendar or gallery syncing.

it all worked fine for me in this respect when I used it, how do I fix this?

Is it to do with the way Facebook is set up?  Is it to do with the Android OS?  Is there a step or update I have missed?  I don't recall ever having this issue.  Only session time out or session expiry requiring re-login.

Suggest double checking the time and date and timezone settings are all correct.

Thanks I checked that and I changed the manual settings to automatic as per network. It didn't fix it. I have tried everything short of a factory reset. I did notice that despite clearing data and cache when I have second and subsequent attempts at loading Facebook I don't get the same initial 2 or 3 options about allowing Samsung to post etc.

Here's info about another way to sync the calendar if Google Calendar is working for you already.

I will have to look into this thanks. But I still don't know why it worked fine but after a reset and and wipe then set up from scratch it doesn't.

Facebook had an update a while ago that caused something like this, make sure everything is up to date (check for android updates, then open the play store and check for updates to the Facebook app.

I think both android and Facebook are up to date and I am not having the same problem on the Galaxy S3, only the S3 mini.  And it worked fine till I wiped it, factory rest it, then loaded it up with a different account.  I used to get the odd need to sign in again but that was it.
