I am being lazy because I am busy but I am getting a new S6 tomorrow, and I am trying to find a nice easy way to specify which apps I want on the new device other than logging into google play and scrolling through the 600 I own and adding them one by one?

I am happy for anything on my existing phone to come across.

Is there a way to say "here are the apps on this phone, tick which ones you want moved" and then have them install ?

Sorry kinda dumb question.

Titanium Backup should do what you want; or Helium if either device isn't rooted.

There is a thing called Samsung Smart Switch. That's all I know!

Excellent thanks. I'll give that a try. If it works I will be very grateful.

When you first set up your phone on Lollipop, it will ask which phone you wish to restore and to select the apps to auto install. Just deselect the ones you don't want.

You don't actually need an SD Card for either of those solutions, though to be fair, with Ti you;d have to back up, copy to box/dropbox/drive, download from the cloud to your new device, run Ti to restore again.

I recently went through the same pain as you with my move from the old HTC One M7 to my Oneplus One, and I used Helium. works a treat, rooted or non-rooted. Slower than Ti perhaps but that's because you've got two devices talking to each other across the network. You have options also for the install source - install from the backed up APK off the old device or install from the Play Store, and then just restore data for the app(s).

I strongly recommend Helium - it does exactly what you want.

Whenever I reinstall my device every app I've ever downloaded on Google Play automatically starts downloading. It's a pain in the butt. I now regularly trim the apps I have associated with my account.

Long prior to getting my first android phone I had signed up to Busuu web using a google account. No apps ever used.

Iirc sometime into owning the new phone I found some Buusu components installed on it. So it kind of appeared a third party decided without my input and based on the Buusu login association.

That was kind of weird. I'm not 100% sure what was on it because I was an android newb at the time and removed it quickly but that is my recollection.
