Anyone know who in NZ might have access to a JTAG that can help me unbrick my Note II?
It's probably not unbrickable (think the EMMC has died) but I certainly didn't help it by trying to repartition it.  Now it won't turn on.

Someone with a RIFF Box or similar?

Thanks.

Yea, we're way past that point.  It

a) Won't power on

and

b) When it would power on, it wouldn't enter recovery (it'd freeze)

From download mode (when that worked) I attempted to reflash the phone's partition table (because ODIN kept telling me it didn't have one) and since that, it's been toast.

Basically: It hasn't got a usable bootloader... JTAG is the only option now.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

Tried those phone repair guys at a mall? Friend had a similar non booting not showing to the PC phone issue, and while the guy at the mall couldnt fix it straight away, he was able to send it off to someone to sort out.

Yea - that's what I'm hoping to find out - who that "guy" might be.

I'm in Napier - not a lot of malls here :)

If I was to murder you, it would be because you're a geek and still used a note 2, not because you bumped a post. laughing

Hey, it was a great phone.
I'd already ordered my Nexus 6 before it died, I'm just annoyed it died because I was going to use it as the "about the house" tablet / backup phone.  It was a LTE model, great phone.  EMMC had been getting REALLY slow lately, so I guess it's death doesn't really surprise me.

Alas. This one wasn't even affected by SDS.  Just overuse :)
