Well I am quite disappointed in my encounter with the Android wear system

I spent a fair bit of time trying to get my Tweets Facebook and Instagram etc notifications to appear never happened
There seems to be no simple Facebook App for LG watch plugin same goes for Twitter etc
I couldn't find any step by step guides "how to get xyz done on LG Watch
The Sony watch I tried had this function and it was quick and easy to setup

So I have put the watch back on the market over at TM selling for what I paid for it

Next!

Pebble?

Really? Every notification on your phone will go to your watch by default. All you need to do is install Android Wear (on your phone) and pair your watch. Under settings in Android Wear you can then choose which apps you don't want notifications from.

Apps don't need to support Android Wear for the notifications to go to the phone. If they do support Android Wear, it isn't an extra download or app, it's baked into the app. Supporting Android Wear adds extra functionality e.g. replies to the basic notification support.

What about Instagram? does it push following posts ?

Don't use Instagram sorry. But if it generates a notification in your phone's notification bar, should come to the watch. Anything else needs Android Wear support, or an add on app that uses Instagram api.

Did you read my reply over at http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=171811&page_no=1#1295315

I
detailed how to get twitter notifications going over there. The same will go for instagram etc. If you can configure an app to display a notification it will automatically be displayed on the watch.

Cheers, Matt.

So is this thread about the G Watch R (which already has its own thread) or Android Wear? It would seem the problems that initially put the OP off are actually to do with watch OS and not the watch in the thread title.

Android Wear is a work in progress and all we early adopters are also Beta testers.

Good point we shouldn't bundle them together. Yes we are early adopters, too early for me! I think I can just see the potential.

I have now moved on and resold the LG watch. So that's the sony 2 , that I quite liked , and the LG with android wear ,which I find a work in progress. I have just ordered a Pebble to have a play with something that has been on the market for a little longer.
