Since I upgraded to the S6 I have just been using the stock messages app for all my sms's where as when I was on my S4 I was using hangouts.
I am finding the stock messages app fine for my needs and am just wondering what everybody else is using with lollipop.

I use Google Messenger instead of Hangouts. No nonsense.

I use the stock SMS app on my Xperia though most of my messaging these days is FB/WhatsApp/Viber.

Used Hangouts for the last year, but my messages started to get jumbled by date in Lollipop, the new Google Messenger app was released so moved to that.  It's simple but good.

I use Hangouts because I both SMS people and reach them with Hangouts so it's easier to use one app.

But it can get confused sometimes especially since I have my Google Voice attached to Hangouts also and when I send using my GV number, it only works to US numbers, not local ones (for which I have to use SMS).  Hangouts is supposed to be smart and know which transport to use but it can be confused.

Was just looking at google messenger and it seems identical to the Sony SMS app anyway!

I have moved to Google messenger and I am finding it nice and simple.

I must admit though I did like the icon badge on Messages for the visual alert you had x amount of messages. Yes I also know that is very apple but I did find it handy.
