Running Kitkat on a Samsung S5 mini, Google Now launcher.

I'm trying to use Google Now to set up a location based reminder (to remind me to swipe my Hop card at Devonport Wharf).

It seems to work except that I don't seem to get a sound, or even a notification in the area at the top of the screen. All I get is a card on the Google Now screen, which I access by swiping the home screen to the right. Not much help!

How can I get it to make a sound? Ideally one that won't shut up until I acknowledge it - it's pretty noisy at the wharf sometimes.

The other annoyance is that you can't pick a location off the map. You have to use an address or a business - neither of which you necessarily have at the end of a pier. Also I'm not sure that it's going to remind me each time or whether it treated my request as a one off.

In the meantime I'm trying out Geobells, but I'd prefer to use Google if I can.
