I am interested in android watches both the moto 360 and LG G R. Apparently when the latest lollipop hits the watches it will have WiFi access enabled. I am interested if anyone has managed to get WiFi working on either watch. There is some talk that although the LG watch has WiFi it will not be usable as it has no antenna.

I'd imagine using wifi would chew through the small battery very very quickly.

Why? They both have Bluetooth on all day and still last a couple of days.

I'm very interested to see what's going to develop on the Tag Heuer android front. The specs haven't been released yet but Tag are saying product lifespan is a key element and hardware components can be upgraded as technology changes. Expensive initial outlay, but if it can be made to last for many years (dependent on the price of upgrades of course) it may well be worth it.

The jury is still out on whether the LG has a working wifi.

The update should be released very soon, so we will have a chance to see - or to see if the urbane image would enable it.

Bluetooth and wifi has different power consumption.

If I am not mistaken, wifi can use up to 30-40% more power than bluetooth.

Meant to last 48 hours or so as well which is far more than most smartwatches these days. Meant to cost ~$1400 USD which is less than most of their normal watches. I think these Tag Heuer watches (and android wear in general) would become more popular if iPhone support was built in. As in my experience a iPhone is more popular with the higher end crowd than android is.

Just seen an update from LG stating they are working on wifi on the LG G R watch. They will not commit themselves at this stage
