Has anyone seen the Vodafone Smart Prime that is only $149?

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/shop/mobileDetails.jsp?skuId=sku780059

It looks better than the Moto G and quite a bit cheaper

In all honesty it's a bloody awesome phone. It's inexpensive but doesn't feel like it compromises. Have been waiting for it to come out for weeks now.

I'm going to go take a look at the store today. I've been using an S4 which is kind of awful - battery runs out so quickly and its slow.

Sounds weird but yeah I think so. Lollipop alone is a pretty big improvement for user experience

I will never buy a  samsung galaxy phone for the same reasons. What can help though is doing a full reset, and only having a few apps on it, and disable memory intensive things such as S-voice,which you probably don't use anyway.

Interesting that this review is at complete odds to the Vodafone website about display and performance.  But for it's money   it's a nice wife / child / spare phone though..

I'm going to wait until I see it in person to judge. I think they are being critical because it's not 1080p - they talk about it having low resolution (720p) which is a bit of a ridiculous complaint considering the price.

According to an inside source - not yet

btw for anyone interested - some of the versions around the globe are using MediaTek processors, the one available here uses a Snapdragon 410

Even if Lollipop does come to the S4, it probably won't come to the one I have with Spark firmware + it will still have TouchWiz - which I abhor.

This is a loaner phone until I can find something I can live with.

It is coming to the one with Spark firmware, no confirmed date yet but it isn't far away.

Yes it will have touchwiz.

If you don't like touchwiz you could install the google edition rom which is pure lollipop

The S4 despite being a couple of years old is still better than the $149 phone
