Nexus 4, Android 5.1.1
Not Rooted

Over the weekend had some major issues with battery drain - from full to empty in a little over 4 hours
Thought it was the new apps/games I had installed so removed and changed the phone while off and this fixed ... until today.

Seems that an game I have had on my phone for ages has been updated and when closed (but "running" via the recent apps menu) it was keeping my phone awake and therefore draining the battery.

Aside from closing all apps via the recent apps menu, does anyone have any tips or tricks to this issue?

Battery / power section of setting is useful. I also have something pop up when I hold the home button on my S4, it shows tasks in memory, CPU use, etc, but I have a custom ROM.
