I have a LG G2 d802 international, which I rooted with stump root with the intention to install lollipop cloudy g2 3.3 and I have been unable to do it.
Can't get into recovery with power and volume down buttons pressed on start up so it appears stump root has done some thing to settings boot loader I think.  The only way I can get into recovery is when rooted is clockworkmod but it comes up with an error message then turns off.
The phone is working OK but I would like to get lollipop installed.

I have a rooted G2 also - though running stock 5.0.2.  Installing this through the LG PC software would be an easy way of getting Lollipop?

In answer to your specific question, I never got the key combo to work (rooted using LG one click root) but didn't try very hard - instead I use a free app called Quick Boot that has a button to boot directly to recovery.

Incidentally, can highly recommend AutoRec as a (seemingly) reliable way to install or remove TWRP

I tried LG PC suite it would not load on my new windows 10 so I put my win 7 hdd in my laptop still no go.  So today installed LG PC software on another laptop with win 10 and wow it loaded thanking you for your advice.

Glad you've got it working - I've found the LG software a little finicky, often not picking up my phone or not identifying the model correctly.

You may have done so already, but I initially rooted so I could install Trimmer - it dramatically improved the increasing sluggishness my G2 was experiencing.
