Hi

My daughter bought a phone - Galaxy S6 - on One Day Deals and had a Spark SIM card put in. The phone won´t register to the Spark network. Spark´s website said the IMEI number will not work on their network.

Is there any way to work around this? Will the phone work on any network?

We can´t find on the phone which frequency it is on.

Any suggestions and help is very much appreciated.

S6 will work on all networks.

Is the IMEI blocked at all by any chance? You can test that on the TCF website.

We tested it on TCF and it isn´t blocked.

Give us the actual model number? It should work on any network

Sounds like a fake Samsung S6

Have you tried the SIM on another phone - is it working?

Have you tried a different SIM?

We don't have another SIM in the house that fits. Do you know how we would find the frequency the phone is set to?

Make sure 3G is enabled. Spark has no 2G network at all.

Yeah, it was set to Chinese language when it first started up so we figured it was Chinese.

this page says the phone is compatible with the Spark network.

The key frequencies are WCDMA 850 and 2100.

I suspect the SIM, is there any other phone you can put the sim in? new cards often come as a multi size unit.

Did you put the SIM card in the SIM1 slot? SIM2 slot (if fitted) is GSM/2G only.

My money is on this being a Chinese knock off which doesn't support 850mhz wcdma so won't work with Spark.

We see them all the time - at first glance they look close to real thing even have the same model number as the original but inside just cheap Chinese rubbish.

Could be wrong but it seems like the most likely option.

We´ve checked the IMEI number on an international site and it says it is valid, it really doesn´t look fake, maybe it is so good the average person can´t tell.

Spark website said the IMEI number will not work on their network.

Put the imei number in here http://www.imei.info

It should tell you if it's a real Samsung
