I have a Galaxy S2 I installed Cyangenmod 10 with their beta installer all went well was using it for some time, and I fancied installing lollipop and it all went wrong from there it wouldn't load so after a lot of trying different roms with no success and restoring back to stock 412 a few times I still can't do it the only way I could root again was with iroot.  But it still won't let me use CWM or TWRP to flash again.  Would like to update again to a more recent rom.
Any help would be appreciated I have googled lots but just seem to be going in circles.

I have so called restored to stock but Samsung will not upgrade as the phone is not stock!

CF-Auto root is the best way to get root.

Currently got CM 12.1 on my S2 and it works very nicely.

Make sure you do a full format under CM 11's recovery first and use nano-gapps

Sorry not sure how to get back to stock

My brother in-law got a korean S2 ages ago - it even had a TV tuner in it - didnt work anywhere but Korea and the phone had lots of Korean specific junk on it.

As he reckoned it wasnt that useful here in NZ I had a play with it and after giving up on trying to flash with odin I discovered heimdall http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/

Seemed a very reliable tool for flashing the S2 - I flashed the vodafone specific ROM onto the phone and it worked great - maybe give heimdall a try.

no real point in going to stock as there isn't a stock lollipop from Samsung. If you do want stock go here and select the appropriate rom for your phone and telco and follow instructions at bottom of page its quick and easy.

You may have already been to XDA if not have a read and try what they are suggesting.

Could be your recovery is wrong or you don't actually have root access, have a look here first and follow the instructions
