I'll admit I am being lazy, but I want to setup notifications so that SMS is one particular sound, game notifications a different sound and everything else a third type.

How do I do this? (Easily and without root).

Great question. Battery notification at odd hours is something I would assign to silent. So irritating when I forget to mute.

SMS notification sounds are set in the messaging app usually, and individual SMS sounds are through the People/Contacts app. Not sure how to have game notifications anything other than the default notification sound, but you could try sound profile apps like Profile Scheduler+ to see if they do what you require as some allow separate notification sounds when the OS doesn't.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Can be done without root. 4.xsomething forward have a notification listener architecture. There is a view for it in settings.

I see several notification manager apps in play store. Now to find one with all the features and no advertising : ).

Any recommendations out there?

Set a different tone in your SMS messages app than your default notification tone. Select each app (gmail g+ etc) and select different tone in settings. I use different native bird tones for different apps.

I use a profile scheduler to mute tone at night.
