I have been a big HTC Android devices since the HTC One M7 - currently on a HTC One M9, wife with a HTC One M8.

HTC is great at releasing OS updates and the lack of "custom apps" is fresh - just compare to some other Android manufacturers.

Expecting the HTC One M10 to drop some time soon. Rumours already going around.

What is your take?

I'm back on HTC with an M9 and loving it.

From what I've heard so far it the M10 will be everything I want in a phone, fingerprint sensor, AMOLED QHD display and the 12MP Ultrapixel camera sounds very promising.

The only disappointment would be the lack of Boomsound speakers, but as long as it keeps some decent stereo ones that are better than Samsung's, I'll be happy enough. As much as I like the speakers in the M9 I don't actually use them that often.

The latest rumours point toward the M10 dropping after both the S7 and the G5. I don't believe that HTC can afford to wait too long after the others or their market share will evaporate again. The flip side to that is they go early with buggy software, as they have in the past.
I really hope the M10 is a something special, as the M7 was. The M9 pushed me towards the S6. My first non-HTC handset in 5 phones.
It will need to have;
QHD,
waterproof,
good cameras,
boomsound speakers,
decent battery life.
A combo microSD/second SIM slot would also be good.
HTC have done a great job of moving their OEM apps to the Play Store. So if they could release the new version of Sense with the OS/Skin/Carrier as separate, independently update-able, elements, that would be great.
HTC are rumoured to be the next OEM for Nexus so there may be some crossover there. But it is also possible they will remain asleep at the wheel and produce a flagship ghat is only playing catch up with last year's leaders.

I need an excuse to update my S6, so the M10, S7 or G5 need to be something special.

I moved from HTC Hero, to One X to One M7 so like their products. (REALLY like the HTC Re).

Hopefully the m10 will have a nice car dock rather than a generic one.

Definitely keep the dual front facing speakers, a design which separates from the other manufacturers.

+1 on the car dock, the M7 and M8 ones where fantastic, slip the phone in and done. Haven't looked at the universal mount as I didn't want to have to pull a it apart to clamp it then insert the cable.

Aside from that, my update schedule means I have to wait for the M11. But have loved the Desire HD, One M7 and M9 so far.

I'm still on the HTC One M7, after upgrading from the Sensation, but the M10 should fit into the upgrade cycle as approved by the Minsiter of Finance. I still like the M7, particularly as HTC kept Android and Sense updated as long as they did. I would prefer that the BoomSound speakers stay, but in reality I use them rarely as I have bluetooth headphones/speakers so it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Personally I think HTC have to nail the camera this time. Add the top of the range processor and QHD. And a microSD slot.

I've heard it's code-named Perfume, which sounds awful, but maybe means all other phones will stink when compared with the M10?

Add to the list, a good quality fingerprint sensor. I doesn't really rate them until I got used to using the one on my S6.

Some Samsung things still bug me, so I would love for HTC to produce a world beater.

I fear HTC will miss the boat by not launching at a similar time to Samsung and LG (2 weeks folks)

Incidentally, if the latest leaked renders are to be believed, then the speakers are still top and bottom of the front but are only slots rather than grills.

Just came to say that if you haven't seen it yet, there was another leak today "confirming" the camera spec.s for the M10/Perfume:

Rear camera: 12 MP Sony IMX377 sensor, 1.55µm pixel size, with laser autofocus and phase detection autofocus.
Front camera: 5MP Samsung S5K4E6, 1.34µm pixel size.

Pixel size on the original UltraPixel cameras was 2µm, so these are smaller/finer.

I have to say I don't find the leaked image that's been doing the rounds for the last few days inspiring. I guess if they are doing away with the Boomsound speakers they don't need the metal sections at the top and bottom that have contained the speaker grilles up until now, but those are part of the "One look" and I really like them.

Apparently the camera sensor will also have OIS which puts it ahead of the current batch of nexus devices. The nexus 6p already takes stunning pics so can't wait to see what laser AF and OIS will add to an already great package.

Would be nice to have another htc nexus (loved my nexus one to bits) but can't see tech improving much over the next 8ish months to warrant the wait over this. Everything this year will have a SD820 so I presume it'll just be a slightly refined design (with boomsound hopefully) with basically the same internals.

Well if that's the new look without the front speakers i will be leaving HTC.

It looks too much like an iPhone.

It'll have a Snapdragon 820 CPU which is a give in but it'll be interesting to see whether HTC follow suit in terms of level Sense customisation considering that their more low end phones have very little customisation when compared to vanilla Android. I've gone onto the HTC NZ website and they're also talking about the Desire 825 and 530 which makes me wonder whether we'll ever see those in NZ or whether HTC is hoping to register enough demand which will compel carriers to carry stock of said products.
