I have an old Galaxy Tab here that is sitting on Froyo 2.2. What I would like to do is update it to at least KitKat.
I rooted it with Z4Root, Superuser is installed and checking with Root Checker, it says it is Rooted.

So now that I am this far, what do I need to do now to install KitKat(apart from finding the Kitkat ROM)? I have Odin ready to go if that is any help.

I have also tried CWM, but the device isn't listed. Also, how do I check if the bootloader is unlocked? Or does rooting do that already?

Hopefully someone can help, as currently the tablet is pretty useless with being stuck on Froyo. I have never installed any ROM's before, so hopefully the above is helpful.

I have only one android device, an htc one m7. When I decided to root I followed instructions on Cnet.. facepalm, upshot is now I can't return to stock ever. The XDA Developers forums are an invaluable resource, had I gone there first I would have learnt how to run a custom recovery without flashing it first to take a nandroid of my device as stock, before flashing or touching anything else.

If no-one with specific knowledge on the galaxy tab comes along to help you through this I'd suggest heading to the XDA forums and doing a lot of reading before you consider actually flashing anything.
