This is one pretty good looking phone with some nice new features. I love the idea on the missing ear piece that uses the frame.

Got my interest.  I have their Mi 4i and it's not too bad but if I got this one I'd use a launcher of some king.  Not too keen on the Chinese  iPhone look alike UI..

"The phone will be available in China on November 4 and will come in two models. One, housing 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, will sell for 3,499 yuan, which converts to about $510, AU$680 or £420. A premium model with 18-carat gold embossing and 256GB onboard storage will cost 3,999 yuan. That's approximately $590, AU$770 or £480."

I'm pretty interested in this phone. I'm actually going to HK and China in January, so am considering purchasing one of these.

I've had a Xiaomi Note 3 and now a Mi Pro 5 and they've both performed and lasted longer than any other device I've ever had. I'll definitely be getting one of these when they release.

In all honesty, unless you're buying them from a Mi Store in Mainland China, I wouldn't get one in person - The ones I've purchased in Hong Kong have been loaded with malware and have to be reflashed which can be a pain.

Looks like it's not going to be launched outside China.

I've got a Mi Max (also 6.4 inches). Fantastic phone.

Generally with Xiaomi there will first be a China only model (no Play Store etc) and then later an international version (with Play Store). At least that is the current deal with other models (e.g. my Mi Max is the international version).

Yes, 100% English. Google Play Store installed by default. No problems with any Google services etc.

Got it off AliExpress - there is an "official" Xiaomi store (not sure how official it is). Just make sure you order the official global firmware.

BTW Ive already had two OTA updates which is more that I got in 3 years from my Note 3 (thanks Samsung!).

Saw the videos about this phone last night. looks really interesting. Quite keen to try out one of the Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi or Meizu for my next android.

This one in particular looks really good - just not sure how massive it will be. They said its about the same size as an iphone plus
