happy new year all.

 

i was wondering if this phone which i have can group txt. i cannot see it detailed in the manual and i cannot see how to set it up myself.

 

any help appreciated

If it's not in the manual then I suspect it does not support it, Have you done a basic Google search?

yep. spent a bit of time on it but im guessing if you cannot find a good answer pretty quick then it looks doubtful. kind of hoping someone would prove me wrong though

If the default sms app doesnt support it there are plenty that do.  I use Yaata myself.  Not sure if it'll treat group txts as sms or mms though - never tried it.

I've got the model down from you, the Smart Prime 6.
My work around was, for each contact I wanted in my group I added the same organisation to their contact details. e.g. surfing friends

Once that was all done, then in the messaging app I would open a new message and press the add contact icon, from there I would type in the name of the organisation (e.g. surfing friends), which then bring up the list of the corresponding contacts. Then I selected those I wanted included in the text and carried on from that point per a regular text.
