Just received:

Samsung Electronics New Zealand today announced a limited edition colour to the Galaxy S7 edge range: Black Pearl.

Designed to be modern and striking, the sleek black finish blankets the entire device – edges and all – and adds depth to its glass design. The result is a stylish all-black aesthetic that capture the essence of the colour in its purest form.

The new variant gives users plenty of space to work with, as the glossy new colour is available exclusively in a 128GB* memory configuration. For those who need even more storage, the device will be bundled with a 256GB SD card as a limited offer until April.

Created for today's consumer lifestyle, the Galaxy S7 edge leads the industry with a unique mobile experience that features an enhanced design, higher quality camera, streamlined software functionality and unparalleled connectivity to the Galaxy ecosystem.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is available in Black Pearl (RRP $1,599.00) at Spark, 2 Degrees, Samsung’s online store and selected retailers.

just getting ridiculous for phone prices these days ...1600 rather wait for the s8  ....

what will be so special about it when a 600 ph can virtually the same thing as the 1600 one

then again i will probably buy the 1600 ph :( lol

If this finish is anything like the Apple Jet black...STAY AWAY!!!

My phone has been in a case 100% of the time and the finish still managed to get pitted from little bits of dust.

I've been looking at getting this. Currently $1400 for a 128GB S7 Edge, 256GB SD card and either the VR headset (if bought at Spark) or a Gear S2 smartwatch (if bought at Noel Leeming) so not too bad value for the bundle.

The Noel Leeming phones are 2 Degrees branded. CSC shows NZC as the carrier code. I will be staying with Spark as my carrier, so what are the implications of this? Assume it means I'm stuck with 2 Degrees splashscreen and my OTA updates will depend on the 2 Degrees release cycle rather than Spark? Or any other impact?

I don't want to root / flash the phone.

I think I'm likely to sit on the fence till the end of the month - hoping S8 release will push down prices a bit - but want to make sure I understand implications.

Cheers.
