Sony were first to release a 4k phone, will they soon be the first to launch with a 21:9 ratio screen?

Here's the link

I love Sony phones, but they are the king of bezels, so this would be a great design improvement for them.

This is (unfortunately) just a fan-made concept render.

I'd be 100% onboard with a phone like this if it had a larger battery. Been waiting for a proper Z Ultra successor since 2014.

Love my Mi Max. Gave the Huawei P8max a whirl last year, stunning design and form factor but that gen of Kirin chips was not great times (also a year too early for fingerprint scanners). ASUS' ZenFone 3 Ultra is pretty cool at 6.8", their software is a little wonky though. A colleague has Huawei's Honor Note 8 and loves it. If the Mi Max came in black, had band 28, and maybe NFC, it'd still be my primary Android device. As-is it's sort of a weekend tablet. Mate 9 occupies that space now. Big phones for lyf.

None of the other big-screen options have the same monolithic appeal as the Z Ultra did, however. Just give me that glossy metal rectangle with Snapdragon 652/660, 4GB RAM, a fingerprint scanner, 4,000mAh battery, and I'll be sold. Not a terribly difficult package to put together, but unfortunately a lot of companies who experimented early with larger screens were burned by low sales figures and have yet to dabble in that form factor market again.

I could never use it as a primary device, although it does fit in my jeans pocket it is way to uncomfortable.

I bought a Mavic Pro a month ago, haven't unboxed it yet, but I'm hoping the Mi Max will be powerful enough to use as the screen for it.
