Hi All

I am after a cheapish android phone to replace an ageing Sony unit. Looking to spend around $200.

My 2 teenage boys both picked up the GT3 over xmas and it seems to be good value.

I currently see the GT3 available for $199 (locked 2D) and P8 lite for $149 (locked Warehouse).

Would look at unlocking either for the extra $30 to use on my Skinny account.

They seem similar specs but just wondering if there are good reasons to go with one over the other?

I'm not a heavy phone user. Just want something responsive and reasonably up to date with a good camera.

Would also look at other phones people think are worth considering.

Thanks.

The p8 lite is stuck on android 5 whereas the GT3 is on 6.

Personally I like the p8 lite - it's design is excellent good cameras and good screen but it will likely never get an offical update to 6 although it is available for some overseas models and the GPU in this is incompatible with android 7.

I'm unsure about the GT3 whether it's capable of taking android 7 but it's fair to say that Huawei's track record for updates to their phones is appallingly bad.
