I have the Assistant set up to give me news sources.

I want to remove one of the news sources.

I've searched on the web and to do this, I should enter settings by clicking on the 3 dots in the upper right of the Assistant window, open news and select/deselect the sources.

However...

When I do that, my Settings page has absolutely no 'News' option at all.

Does anyone know what to do to fix that?

If you are on version 7.2 of the Google app you will need to change your device language to English US as the settings are broken/missing for other languages.

Then it is blue button at top right of assistant screen > 3 dot > Settings > News

You can change the device language back when you are done.

Thanks I was wondering why I had Google Now until I realised I had English (NZ). Changed to English (United States) and I get Google Assistant!

You can use English UK as well which give better localisation options (date formatting etc) and IMO much better TTS esp for navigation. But you will need to get the set up done as US first then switch, though this is dependent on your Google app version; 7.1 works fine, 7.2 beta is broken for anything but US.

It will work with UK English too but you can't access the full setup options without switching to US English and then back again when you are done.

i've noticed lately the swipe to dismiss google now cards has broken .. have to tap into the three dots to clear a story and it keeps coming back..

can fix it temporarily if you clear cache and data from nthe google app but it eventually starts doing it again .

btw ...   almost tempted to switch back to google now on tap vs the assistant ... GNOT works a hell of a lot better with the screen search function, and assistant lacks the fine tune feature to select txt in a photo..
