I have a Xioami Note 3 Pro I got from PB Tech a few weeks ago (I see it's on special today saving about $70 from what I paid ouch lol). It seems pretty good, I seem to have something draining the battery as it only just lasts a day of moderate use, I'm pretty sure I should be getting more, but the major issue I'm having is that I'm missing calls. People will try and call me and it will ring for them a few times and then they'll get a busy signal, it doesn't even seem to go to voicemail for some reason. Some calls do go through but of course I'm missing calls I don't even know I'm missing. Sometimes I can try and make a call and it won't work but it usually does. I think it has something to do with the phone going to sleep or being connected to wifi. I've found numerous threads online including in the MIUI forums about this issue so it seems I'm far from alone on this one, but I can't find any solutions that seem like is universally accepted and their doesn't appear to be any official response from Xiaomi from what I could gather. Had any NZ uses had this issue? I'm on Skinny. Maybe @NikT might have a solution? It's pretty useless at this point as a phone if I can't receive calls randomly.

Just here to say both my partner and I have had our Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pros for over a year now and haven't encountered this issue.

What networks do you use? Just the standard MIUI rom?

Ok thanks for that. I wonder if it's got something to do with the way the spark/skinny network is set up, no gsm like vodafone. Anybody on Spark or Skinny with one of these phones?

Hey just curious as to what you have you country selected as, I know New Zealand isn't an option.

Hmm, odd - I have heard one other report of similar behaviour with this model, but it sounded like it was caused by a software update on the developer beta track rather than a hardware fault. What build of MIUI are you currently running? Latest stable and beta builds available here (make sure you select the Special Edition variant).

If that doesn't fix it, drop the team a line here or email ra@pbtech.co.nz.

The country selection makes no difference beyond default language/timezone/a few preloaded apps for specific regions, you can pick any country you like with no consequence to the network stack in the device. I usually run with South Africa. The betas include US and UK options.

Thansk NikT. Yeah, I've found a few different threads of people having similar issues not only with Note 3s but other Xiaomi models. There doesn't seem to be any solid solution that I could find. It updated to the latest version 8.2.4.0 straight out of the box. Is it worth trying the developer ROM? Not really wanting to start flashing ROMs around if I can.

I like the dev beta track because you get weekly updates, prompt upgrades to the latest security patches, and they're shockingly stable for what's supposedly beta software. Depends how much you like updating your phone I suppose.

Also super-easy to shift from stable to beta, just download the latest beta built to your phone -> go to the update app or settings -> choose local update from the drop-down menu and select the zip file.

That sounds simple enough, probably worth a shot to see if it fixes the issue.

I changed across to the developers rom a few days ago, and initially it looked like it may have helped, but it hasn't, still randomly having the same issue. I'll wait to see if the upcoming MIUI 9 update helps, otherwise I guess it's going back.

Anybody on Skinny using one of these?
